The Nintendo DS isn't only going mighty finely overseas - it's doing
just as well Down Under. Nintendo Australia has confirmed that it's
sold through more than 550,000 units of the handheld since its launch
in 2005, while more than 400,000 'Touch Generations' games have been
snapped up by consumers.
To continue the trend, Nintendo's planning to bring
More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain to Australian shores on July 5, at $49.95. Nintendo has also scheduled
Picross DS for release in a couple of weeks, with that set to touch down on June 7.
"Whether you’re young or old, a long
term gamer or have never picked up a video game in your life – ‘Touch!
Generations’ is a perfect way to enjoy the world of video gaming," explained Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing at Nintendo Australia.
"The nintendogs series has done
wonders in reaching the younger female audience. The Brain Training
series has certainly extended our appeal beyond the traditional gaming
audience. With More Brain Training, it’s great to see such a worthy
sequel to such an important and innovative product."
