I know what jupiter's made out of, but it's not the exact same as the sun. Let's have a little physics review, shall we? A mixture becomes a different mxiture when certain things happen, including but not limited to: temprature, color, nuetral matter state. The sun is a different a color, and it's definatly more warm. So it's different.

Jupiter was formed from the same cloud of gas as the Sun. Trust me, I have done my research.

And I said IF it expanded 40 times more than it did. It hasn't expanded that much so it's not going to happen, as it is not expanding anymore. Though if it had of it would ahve become a star.

Well you still haven't disproved my claim about the chemical changes; I am also well aware of where Jupiter was formed.

Alright, the Sun underwent a chemical reaction that Jupiter had not undertaken yet, yeah? Before this chemical reaction the Sun looked a lot like Jupiter. This is because the Sun was heated by gathering particles in the solar system. When the Sun's core reached 10 million degrees celcius hydrogen began to be fused to make helium. This is still the reaction that takes place in the nuclear furnace that is the core. Now when this happened, all of the remaining gas and dust in the solar system was blown away. The only gas that was retained was by the gas giants - that is, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. So Jupiter had nothing more to expand with, hence, it couldn't become a sun. But HAD IT expanded more, before the chemical reaction occured in the Sun (blowing away the remaining material) Jupiter could have formed into a star similar to our Sun.
