Nintendo to be a main anchor for the ESA's new consumer videogames show in Los Angeles.
It has been announced that Nintendo has signed as an anchor exhibitor at the new consumer video games exhibition, the Entertainment for All Expo, which has been endorsed by the American Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
Created as a result of strong consumer demand to view and demo new products before their release, the E for All Expo is expected to "launch an early and successful holiday shopping season for the industry", due to the mid-October event schedule. George Harrison, VP of Marketing and corporate communications for Nintendo, said, "The E for All Expo supports Nintendo’s mission to reach as many types of consumers as possible to expand the world of video games to new audiences[...]Our Wii and Nintendo DS systems are all about gaming for the masses, and the E for All Expo will give consumers a chance to try out the hottest new Nintendo video games."
Mary Dolaher, executive vice president of IDG World Expo, the organisers of the E for All Expo, said Nintendo's involvement demonstrates the event's importance. She then went on to say, "E for All has been shaped from the ground up with all gamers in mind, and Nintendo has proven its commitment to embracing the spectrum of gamers, as we’ve seen with their launch of the Wii." Dolaher also announced that "In addition to being our flagship exhibitor, Nintendo of America Executive Vice President of Operations Don James has agreed to serve on our Exhibitor Advisory Board."
Event-goers will be able to test out numerous products over the 4 day event, with the added bonus of being able to purchase some of them at an on-site store. Special events are being planned for the expo, including videogame tournaments, job fair/networking opportunities, and the Video Games Live concert.
The event is scheduled to take place on October 18-21 in Los Angeles.
